Overclocking is an act of telling the processor to run at a faster speed than it was initially intended to.

Severe overclocking can cause stability issues, and in very extreme cases, damage the CPU,but usually you can gain 10 to 15 per cent extra speed without any problems.

The most common app to overclock your device is SetCPU, but the developer android app developers has recently released an easy app without lots of complex settings.

Your ROM/Kernel will need to support overclocking for the app to work.

You will see two sliders:

The top is the max speed that the device’s CPU will run at , and the bottom is the minimum.

Reducing the max and min frequency can help save battery,but going too far will make the device laggy.

Try increasing the max by a small amount, then pressing the Menu button and settings and run the performance Test.

If all goes well,you can then try increasing the max speed some more.
